Recycling and Yard and Garden Waste scheduled collection service are provided every other week on an alternating fixed schedule. Click here to view the schedule for your area. You may also request a Collection Calendar by contacting us, and we’ll be happy to send you one via mail or email.

Where do I place my carts?

  • Carts must have 3 feet clearance on all sides.
  • Carts must be 6 feet from vehicles and all other obstacles.
  • Place waste carts roadside or just forward of sidewalk.

What time do I have to put out my carts?

  • All carts must be curbside by 5:00 am on your service day to avoid a return trip charge.

What else do I have to be aware of?

  • All items must fall freely from your carts.
  • Items that do not come out of your carts will be serviced on your next scheduled service day.

Is there anything I can't put in my carts?

All of the following are non acceptable items in your carts:

  • Dirt
  • Concrete or rock
  • Dead animals
  • Liquids such as oils, water, gas, or chemicals
  • Hot ashes or coals
  • Hazardous waste

Annual Bulky Waste Collection Event

Residential customers are provided an annual bulky waste collection event.  The annual collection event is typically held on a Saturday in June at the Isleton Corporation Yard at 100 6th Street. Look for the date in our annual newsletter or call our Customer Service Team.

 

What’s considered Bulky Waste? Furniture, carpet, mattresses, contained green waste (bag, box, or bin), clothing, appliances and even televisions, stereos, computers and other electronic equipment. Each resident may bring up to 2 cubic yards of Bulky Waste to the drop-off location. Large green waste, such as tree trunks or branches, cannot exceed 3 feet in length.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is not allowed in any Cal-Waste equipment.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is defined as a waste with properties that make it dangerous or capable of having a harmful effect on human health or the environment.  Some examples of HHW are:

 

  • Batteries
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Lighter fluid
  • Anything containing mercury (thermometers and thermostats)
  • Nail polish/remover
  • Pool chemicals
  • Motor oil
  • Paints and solvents
  • Pesticides
  • Gas tanks
